Short Escape · 5 days / 4 nights
Fort, Cinnamon & Southern Sea
Architecture, craft and coastal calm in one elegant southern escape.
A coast, architecture and craft short stay
Sri Lanka's southern shore is not one continuous beach. It is a sequence of habitats, trading towns, gardens, workshops and fishing communities, each carrying a different quality of light. This four-night route reads the coast in chapters rather than hurrying towards a resort.
A conservation-focused first stop leads to Hikkaduwa; Galle is understood through architecture and maritime history; and a two-night finale at Vis Ta Vie leaves room for cinnamon, lagoon life and the simple pleasure of an unscheduled afternoon facing the Indian Ocean.

Your itinerary
1
Arrival in Colombo
Private airport welcome and transfer to Cinnamon Grand Colombo. The first day is intentionally unprogrammed. If the flight lands before noon, a late-afternoon seafront and design orientation can be arranged after rest, but it is not required for the journey to feel complete.
Stay · Cinnamon Grand Colombo
Meals · Dinner at the hotel, subject to arrival time
2
Conservation on the road south
Leave Colombo after breakfast and follow the expressway towards the coast. Visit a carefully vetted sea-turtle conservation project near Kosgoda for an educational session that avoids handling and does not guarantee a release. Continue to Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon, arriving around lunchtime. The afternoon is free; any reef or boat activity must be professionally operated and confirmed against sea conditions.
Stay · Hikka Tranz by Cinnamon
Meals · Breakfast and dinner at the hotel
3
Galle in the cool morning
Drive approximately 30 minutes to Galle Fort and explore with a cultural or architectural host before the day becomes hot. Follow the ramparts, civic buildings and quieter lanes, with time for one selected atelier rather than a shopping circuit. Continue to Mirissa in approximately 1.25-1.5 hours and check in at Vis Ta Vie. The late afternoon belongs to the guest.
Stay · Vis Ta Vie
Meals · Breakfast and dinner at the hotel
4
Cinnamon, lagoon and a coastal table
Travel towards Koggala after breakfast for a hosted cinnamon and lagoon experience. Meet a small producer, learn how bark is peeled and quills are formed, and take a calm professionally operated boat journey with safety equipment when water conditions permit. A local lunch completes the excursion. Return to Mirissa by mid-afternoon for rest, swimming and sunset.
Stay · Vis Ta Vie
Meals · Breakfast, hosted local lunch and dinner at the hotel
5
Departure
Private transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport takes approximately 2.5-3.5 hours. For departures before 2:00 pm, leave very early or add a final Colombo night; for a late flight, a day-use room may be costed separately.
