A Ritual of Renewal
A coastal rhythm of Ayurveda, nourishment, movement and rest.
A doctor-led Ayurveda and coastal wellness retreat
Wellness travel works best when the body is not repeatedly packed into a vehicle. This programme uses one easy arrival night in Colombo followed by ten nights at Ayurvie Weligama, matching the retreat's own recommended 10-14-night window for meaningful treatment programmes.
The daily structure is personalised after consultation. Yoga, vegetarian meals, therapies and rest form the centre; coastal walks and selected cultural experiences remain secondary. The result is not a hurried spa add-on, but a coherent retreat with space for the programme to settle.

Your itinerary
1
Arrive without demands
Meet at the airport and transfer to Cinnamon Grand Colombo. No treatment or city touring is scheduled. Rest, hydrate, eat lightly according to personal preference and meet the representative for a concise transfer and retreat briefing.
Stay · Cinnamon Grand Colombo
Meals · Dinner at the hotel, subject to arrival time
2
Coastward and into consultation
After breakfast, drive to Weligama in approximately 2.5-3 hours. Check in at Ayurvie Weligama and meet the Ayurveda doctor for an initial consultation based on health history, present needs and retreat goals. The property then confirms an individual schedule, diet and therapy plan. Finish with a gentle orientation, early dinner and rest.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast at the Colombo hotel; lunch and dinner from retreat check-in
3
Establishing the rhythm
Begin with morning yoga, a personalised vegetarian breakfast and the first full therapy session prescribed by the doctor. Keep the remainder of the day spacious: rest, a short ocean-view walk and evening yoga or meditation. The focus is observation and adjustment rather than adding external excursions.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
4
Treatment and nourishment
Follow the prescribed morning routine and therapy schedule. Join a garden or ingredient introduction to understand how food is aligned with the retreat programme. A follow-up conversation with the wellness team may adjust timing or meals. Sunset is reserved for a quiet shoreline walk, subject to weather and the doctor's guidance.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
5
A quieter day inward
Continue yoga, treatments and restorative meals. Use the longer rest period for reading, journaling or guided breathing rather than sightseeing. If included in the selected retreat package, add a gentle head, foot or body treatment only as prescribed; the medical team remains the authority on sequencing.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
6
Local craft, lightly held
Maintain the morning wellness programme. In the afternoon, and only if compatible with treatment, visit the property's preserved Ruined House space for a low-intensity arts, craft or cooking demonstration. Return to the retreat schedule without a late evening outing.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
7
Mid-programme review
A doctor follow-up reviews comfort, sleep, digestion and energy, then refines treatments or meals as needed. Yoga and therapies continue. The afternoon remains completely open for rest, with an optional guided meditation before dinner.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
8
Ocean air and gentle movement
Continue the individual programme. If approved by the doctor and sea conditions are suitable, take a longer but unhurried coastal walk with a naturalist or guide. Guests who need more rest remain at the retreat. The itinerary is intentionally flexible because the treatment response, not a pre-written activity list, should lead the day.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
9
Deepening the routine
Morning yoga, prescribed therapies and nourishing meals continue. A private consultation or mindfulness session may be scheduled. Avoid adding a long transfer or strenuous activity; this day protects the continuity of the programme and gives the body time to respond.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
10
A considered cultural window
After the morning programme, an optional short hosted visit to Galle Fort can be arranged if the doctor agrees and the guest feels well. Keep the walk shaded and compact, with time for architecture and craft rather than shopping pressure. Return well before dinner. Guests on a more intensive programme remain at the retreat.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
11
Integration and departure preparation
Complete the final main therapies and attend an integration consultation. The doctor and team summarise recommended routines, food principles and follow-up considerations for home. Spend the final afternoon quietly by the ocean and pack without rushing. Early dinner and rest are advised before the airport transfer day.
Stay · Ayurvie Weligama
Meals · Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the retreat
12
Departure
Breakfast according to the retreat plan, then private transfer to Bandaranaike International Airport in approximately 2.5-3.5 hours. For flights departing before midday, add a Colombo or airport-area night during final design rather than interrupting the final treatment day.
